34 Weeks!!!

I am 34 weeks today, that could possibly be the magic number for my freedom. I will wait until I see my Doctor on Tuesday to confirm. If all looks good then I should be off restrictions until she arrives. I am nervous because I am feeling a lot of pressure and many more contractions. They are also much stronger. I think she is trying to arrive very soon, but we shall see. I am an big as a whale, or at least it looks and feels that way to me. I am starting to swell a lot in my face, hands and feet. I am very uncomfortable, but it's worth it.

Enjoying the Moment

Austin loves to play with jewelry. He always goes for any and everything Nana has on. Here he is playing with a bracelet that represents Autumn. It was one of those moments I had to catch and share.

Early Christmas Celebrations

Austin, Jason, Grandma Rockett and Tracy all went to a Christmas Party on Sunday. I stayed home due to weather and not quite off bedrest yet. Austin did great and loved playing with all the cars they had there and the kids too. It was Grandma Rockett's family that get together once a year.

Yesterday we got together with my Dad, Sister and her Family for the Geister Christmas. It was really nice to see them, we don't get to very often. The kids all had a blast playing and opening gifts. I actually sat up to eat dinner for the first time in a long time. It was really nice. I love our yearly Christmas visits.

Austin is loving all the gifts he got. He got a ton of cars from Grandpa, Diane and Cassie. He has been playing with them all day today. He also got Mr. Potato head from Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Jerry and the boys. He has also been playing with that all day too. He got some Duplo blocks and is quite interested in those. We have a lot more to give him on Christmas. I think it's time to put up all the old toys.
Here is Austin tearing through his gifts. He did really well this year opening.

We also got together earlier this month with the Godbouts to celebrate Christmas with the kids. Austin loves when she comes over and they had a blast opening their gifts. Austin got a ball pit and Bridget got a piggy bank. They both liked playing with both toys a lot. It's always fun to get the kids together!!

Snowed In

Well here I am laying inside and trapped, but not by bedrest this time. Its a Blizzard outside!! I love the snow, but can't stand to go out in it. Looks like we will have a white Christmas for sure, yay! We haven't taken Austin outside in the snow yet because he hasn't been feeling well. Well he acts fine, but has a bad case of Diarrhea. I called his Doctor's Office this morning and they can't see him today because they were closing at 10am due to the snow! He is going to go in on Monday, until then we will be enforcing the B.R.A.T diet and hopefully that will help him a lot.

Other than that Austin has been doing very well. I think he is ready for Santa to come. He keeps pointing at our Santa decorations and saying, "Ho Ho Ho." He also loves to wear his Santa hat from last year, but it doesn't fit him well at all. I love this time I get to spend with Austin, even though I am stuck on the couch. It is going to be so nice when Kayla gets here. I just love being a Mother and feel so blessed right now. I am really trying to enjoy these last few weeks of Pregnancy because thats it for this family.

I went to the Doctor yesterday and thankfully I had another really good appointment. The cervix is still long and closed. I had another nice talk with the Doctor and she said everything looks great. I was a little concerned because I gained 8lbs in 2 weeks, but she said it is ok because I am on bedrest and don't do a lot. I feel so huge I can't stand it. It is going to be very difficult to lose the baby weight, but I will do it because I have to. Anyway, she said I can probably come off restrictions next week. I can't believe I am that far along already. I might go to the movies and out to dinner and lots of baby shopping. I say that now, but I am usually too tired to get out and do anything. I have been getting out here and there and it really takes a lot out of me. I am in a lot of pain and exhausted and just want to get back to my cozy couch. We will see how it goes. I am not thinking much about complications anymore. I only have one more ultrasound on Monday and one more cervix check. After that they wont even look unless I am in labor! My mind is fixated on the delivery now. I am terrified to go through that again, but I know in the end it will all be worth it.

We are looking forward to Christmas and have lots of plans with Family. Can't wait!

The end is near

I haven't been blogging as much lately. I guess it's because I have been up a little more and trying to stay away from the computer for a while. I will be 32 weeks on Friday, huge milestone for high risk pregnancy! I went in for a visit last week and my cervix was still long and closed. I got brave and asked the Doctor if I could go out to the baby store in a stroller and out to dinner and she said yes! That day when I left I went to Carters and loaded up on a few things for Kayla. The next day went to Babies R Us and to Dinner. I hurt so bad I couldn't stand it and just wanted to go back home, go figure! I am no where near ready for Kayla, but I am getting there slowly.

I went in today for an Ultrasound and it went very well. Cervix is still very long and closed, great news. I was so happy. She is just over 4 pounds and adorable. She has a lot of hair too!! Austin went in with us and when he saw the lady putting gel on my belly he was saying Ow. Then he saw the baby on the screen and said Wow! He kept saying baby too. It was adorable and I am so glad he went. They have a fountain there and he always throws pennies in and we make wishes for Kayla to be healthy. He loves going to the Doctor with us. Today we went to Dennys and Toys R Us and it was great. I wasn't nearly as sore after moving around so much.

If I keep doing so well I will be off bedrest by christmas and my shots will also be done by then! I am excited and feel much less stressed. I have been contracting like crazy for a couple weeks and they are not making a difference at all, so they must be braxton hicks. I have also been very uncomfortable with the baby being so low. I thought for sure I was dilated or something, but nope not yet.

Beautiful Distraction

I have had a good week here at home. I think mostly because I am lucky enough to have such a sweet son and husband who make me smile and laugh everyday. They keep my mind off all of the worry and stress. Here are some cute Austin moments from yesterday I will forever treasure.

He just learned how to say cheese for the camera, so I usually get this cute grin.

Austin and Bridget

Yesterday we got a lovely visit from our friends Chad, Jenn and their adorable daughter Bridget. The kids are so cute when they get together and they are always go go go. They have been an amazing support for us through all these difficult times and we love then dearly. I think Austin and Bridget are finally starting to get along well...maybe.

I'm a Lucky Girl

I went in today for an ultrasound and a checkup. I was very scared and my heart was racing when they took my BP. I am so lucky because everything was perfect. My cervix was very long again measuring 40mm! It grew!! When she put pressure on my uterus it funneled a small amount, but nothing too concerning at all. I was so happy!! Kayla looks awesome and is between 2.5 and 3 pounds already! Yay Kayla!! When I saw the Doctor he was very positive and didn't even check my cervix. We had a great talk and all is awesome. I am going in Friday for another FFN test and may be able to skip a week between appointments. I am just about 29 weeks and very lucky to be doing so well. Gotta love the dynamic cervix!!

Here is a pic of growing Kayla

Here is a pic of me doing what I do best right now...laying on the couch

Second Milestone...Accomplished

I did it! I hit my second milestone I set for myself, today I am 28 weeks Pregnant! I will set the next milestone for 30 weeks. I am very happy today :)

She Has a Name

Jason and I have been going back and forth over a name for the baby for quite some time now. I was throwing a lot of names out there but Jason rejected each and every one of them, typical guy. Well, we both finally sat down and each made a seperate list of 10 names. I actually only came up with 7 names and Jason about 12 or so. Go figure!! Anyway we each read our lists off one name at a time and narrowed it down to the names we both liked and both had on the list. It was as follows...

1. Savannah
2. Kayla
3. Gabrielle
4. Isabelle

And her name is...

Kayla Gabrielle Rockett

It may seem silly to some to name a baby before they are born, but we like to give our Children a name as soon as possible. It's a good feeling. So no longer baby girl, she is now Kayla. I am excited to meet her, but I want her to wait a couple more months.

I had a couple scares this week, but I was checked out twice and all is still well. On Monday I was concerned my water broke and had cramping, but no change to cervix and water did not break. Then on Thursday I went in because I had a few contractions the night before. Still no change to cervix. There was one scary thing, but it may be nothing. The baby is putting more pressure on the cervix now and feels lower. It may be no big deal and she could go back up. I go in on Wednesday for an ultrasound and check to make sure all is still well. I am in a good place and very calm about everything. Even if I go into the Hospital for a while, it's all for her and thats ok with me. I feel very lucky to have made it so far and to still be in a good place. It is getting tough to just lay around all day everyday, but it's not the worst thing. My muscles have turned to mush and my body aches way more than it should for someone my age. Only a bit further to go, I believe they will lift some restrictions at 34 weeks, so I am looking forward to that!

Back to My Old Pregnant Ways

I didn't have a very good Appointment today. My cervix has made a change for the worse. It shortened from 42mm to 28mm. I was really discouraged when I heard the news, but worse things could happen. The Doctor came in to look at my cervix and said it is still red and inflamed. Sometimes that happens with pregnancy. He said he was happy with the location of my cervix, it is kind of twisted so baby's head isn't putting all of the pressure on it. We are not sure why it shortened and it is a cause for alarm, but he didn't find it necessary to admit me to the Hospital. He said it is probably going to be like my last pregnancy from here on out. For those of you who remember that, it was a very tough ride. I have to continue to take it very easy and I go in Friday for a FFN test. This is a test that tells if there is a possibility that I deliver in the next 2 weeks. The Doctor said if I do get a negative that is very accurate, but if it is positive, it's only 15% accurate. So, we are of course hoping for a negative. I also get the steroid shots on Friday to help develop baby's lungs just incase. Austin got these shots 2 times and they are very helpful. I al grateful to at least make it to almost 27 weeks without problems. I am still going to go very far, it's just going to get very tough now. This baby girl is more than worth it though! Please keep us in your Prayers.

My Tough Little Guy

Austin had his EEG test today. Jason took him by himself and I was very bummed that I could not go. We don't have results yet, but Austin did very well during the test. Jason didn't know what to expect because he knew Austin would have to stay still for a long time. That doesn't work well with a 19 month old. Before they started the test Austin had to be bundled in like a burrito and strapped down to the bed. When I heard this I thought for sure he was screaming the whole time. After that they attached all of the stuff to his head and wrapped his head. He just laid there and watched Elmo. His feet were free and when Elmo was dancing he was swaying his feet. What a ham. The whole test took about 45 min and he was a tough guy for the whole thing.

We should have results in a few days and I am sure everything is ok. I am feeling better about the whole thing and no matter what I love Austin the way he is.

Here are a couple of pics from the test that Jason took. I freaked when I saw them, but he was happy the whole time.

Happy Halloween

I think Austin had a pretty good Halloween this year. It started out good because Jason had the day off, he actually has the whole week off. We started the day off by getting out of the house. We went to Babies R Us and got Austin a Big Boy Potty. He doesn't get it yet of course, but he did pee pee in it some already! Anyway, after that we came home and hung out until it was time to Trick or Treat. We headed over to Jason's Dad's house (Gramps) and got Austin dressed up in his Vampire outfit. He has throwing a fit and hated the costume on him. Jason took him outside to help hand out candy for a while and he for over it really fast. He was amazed with all of the kids dressed up and even liked the really scary stuff. He was very well behaved and having a lot of fun. Jason took him to a few houses while I stayed back and rested. He walked well with Daddy, but needed help going up to the houses. They came back to Gramps house and played in the front yard again while checking out all of the kids. After that we had to stop by Jason's Mom's house to see her, Tracy and Uncle Steve. It was a nice visit, but I had to lay inside on the couch most of the time. Grandma took Austin walking around a bit then we headed home. It was a big day for Austin and he slept very well last night.

100 Days

Only 100 Days left until we see our Baby Girl. Really hard to believe!

I went to the Doc today for a checkup. It drives me crazy that I see a different Doctor every time. The cervix is still long and closed. Very good news! I am half way to my next goal of 28 weeks. I go in next week for another ultrasound.

EEG Test

I really didn't think this would ever happen, but Austin has to go to Children's Hospital for an EEG test on Monday. He started to twitch a few times a day and I got worried so Jason took him to the Doctor today. She said just as a precaution he should get the EEG test done and also see a Neurologist. I am really freaked out, but hopefully it will turn out to be nothing and go away on it's own. There is a very big possibility it is nothing according to the Doctor.

I am just worried because we have so much going on and I want Austin to be ok. All I do is sit around and think about everything with this pregnancy and worry. Now I have to worry about my Austin too. I go in for an appt tomorrow morning with my mom. I sure am counting on everything to go well there. It darn better. I will update later, please keep us in your Prayers.

1st Fever

Poor Austin hasn't been feeling well since yesterday. Last night his fever spiked up to 102.3. Of course I called the Doctor and they wanted to see him first thing in the morning. No I didn't call after hours, they were still open. I gave him some Motrin and my mom came over to help me out since he was sick. She put him in the tub for a cool bath to break the fever and it worked well. He was playing and happy so I wasn't too worried. I put him down at 9 and he slept until 2am. Then the crabby fussy guy awoke and stayed away until 5am! Of course Jason slept right through that.

Jason took him in to the Doc this morning and his fever wasn't too high maybe 100.4. He checked out fine other than dehydrated. They said to keep an eye on him and bring him back if it doesn't stop in a couple days. Of course now that the sun is going down his fever has spiked again. We couldn't get him to eat anything until Jason made him a egg and cheese omlette, and he gobbled that up. Hoping for a better night. Lots of Cuddles, kisses and liquids for my little guy.

Here is Nana and Austin after his bath yesterday.

Costume Preview

We have had Austin's Halloween costume for a while. I decided to put him in it today to see how he liked it. Well, he hates it! Jason would not let me get a cute tigger or penguin costume, he wanted his son to be something grown up. I didn't like that, but I had to listen. Anyway, Austin is a Vampire and he doesn't like the cape on him. He is fussy with it on. We will see how it goes this Halloween.
