Vegas Trip
Jason, Austin and I went to Vegas last week. I had to go for Work, and they decided to come and join me. I was busy most of the days in meetings at the Hotel, but it was really nice to be able to hang out with the guys when I was off every day. We flew out last Tuesday evening and Austin slept through his whole 1st plane ride. He fell asleep on take off and i was so nice!
Vegas was very beautiful. Austin loved looking at all of the big buildings and lights. I actually saw a lot of babies on the "strip." We walked the whole "strip" and saw most all there was to see. I was exhausted and still am!!! I wish I would have taken more pictures, but I was just way too tired!! I am so ashamed!!!
Here are a couple of pics I did take, there are not many :(

Walk for Babies
This year we all walked as a family for Autumn in the Walk for Babies. We all have special T-Shirts' for the Walk. Austin's says,"For my big sis Autumn" and ours says,"Remembering Autumn." This year was very nice, and we went to Monroe to walk. There were a lot of people and it was a great feeling to be there raising awareness for Premature Babies.
Austin did great for the walk and slept most of the time. We were not sure if we would walk the whole thing with because we had Austin, but we did it all. We raised a lot of money, thank you to everyone who donated.

I'm Back!
I finally have time to get onto the computer more for updates and whatever! I have been so bad with posting, and I am upset with myself!
Austin has been doing great, almost 14 months old! He is not walking on his own yet, but seriously thinking about it, lol! I can't get him to take a sippy cup still, but we are really working on that! He is enjoying going outside now that the weather is warmer.
Lots of changes going on here. We got rid of our two dogs yesterday. It was really hard to do and I miss them, but we just don't have time anymore. They are in a great home, and we can stop by and see them anytime we want.
We are getting ready to move, so that will be crazy for the next couple of months. It is for the best though and we are very excited about it.
We are going to Vegas in almost a week for my work. I am not excited about it, but not as stressed about it anymore either. I hate to fly, but I am sure all will be fine.
I will be online more often now that we have a laptop. It doesn't work too well to have a toddler and not have a laptop. I LOVE it!!!
I leave you with these pictures from about a month ago - before Austin got a haircut. (I am also taking MANY more pics to post soon too)

The Blanket

This is The Blanket.
The Blanket that my Mom started while I was Pregnant. She made it slowly, circle by circle. When I was in the Hospital time after time, she was by my side making this blanket. While I lay there every day worrying about the pregnancy, she made this blanket.
Little did I know she was as worried as I was about the pregnancy. When I look back I don't remember seeing her worries. I remember seeing her working hard on this Blanket, and it made me feel safe. It made me feel safe because I knew everything would be ok. I knew Austin would be ok and he would one day be cuddled up in this blanket. This is the Blanket, the very special Blanket that we will Cherish forever. Thank you Nana for all of your support and of course for the blanket. It is not just a Blanket, it is a feeling of safety, a feeling that everything will be ok.

Big Day
We took Austin to a baby fair that was going on nearby. I have never been and we decided to check it out with Jenn, Chad and Bridget. Austin was in a baby crawling race and he did very well. He won first, then in the finals he won 3rd. He was very frustrated by the end of - too much going on. Hey, he won $10!! That works for us!

After the fair we decided to get Austin's 1st Haircut!! It was hard to decide, but that hair was getting way too long. He did very well, and he looked so cute!!
He was worn out after his big day.

12 Month Check-Up
Yesterday was Austin's 12 Month well visit. It was a good one, we got to see our favorite Doctor. She is so good with Austin and doesn't mind talking to us. She made sure Austin was sleeping in his crib (has been for a long time) and said to push the sippy cup a lot more. Austin doesn't care much for his sippy. We went drastic on Austin and tried to switch from formula to whole milk a couple weeks ago. It didn't work out so well! Austin hated it and refused to drink it. We have been mixing bottles here and there and he does much better. We will just have to slowly sneak the milk on him - and the sippy cup. This will be a challenge.
His weight is awesome - 23lbs. He is average for everything accept weight, he is above there.
She said his hemmangioma (bump on head) seems to be going down. We are so used to poeple making comments that he bumped his head. I don't even correct them anymore.
He did ok with his shots. He was playing with Dad while laying on the table. He was so happy and giggling, then he got the 1st poke and he looked so shocked. He was trying to cry, but so upset nothing was coming out. By the time the 4th poke came, he was beside himself crying and screaming. He looked and the nurse in terror as she left the room. She felt so bad :( He didn't cry for too long, and was back to himself soon.
Once we got home I decided to give him some dinner. He ate all his yummy dinner, tilted his head to the side, gave me a weird face and vomited ALL over the high chair. I thought he was done and rushed over to get a towel, but he was not done at all. More yuckies just came flowing. I have never seen him vomit like a big boy, lol.
When he was finished, I rushed him to the bath and he was giggling and playing happily in the water. Even when he came out of the bath he seemed ok, no fever. He was extra cuddly and loveable, but I didn't mind that.
I called and spoke with the nurse this morning and she said vomiting is not a side affect from the shots. She thought he must have caught something while in the Doctors office! I really don't think he did though, he seems totally fine today other than very calm and relaxed.

Food Blues
Austin is mostly off the formula. We switched on Wednesday when Jason had the day off. The first day went very well and Austin drank his milk from a sippy cup and everything. He still isn't so good at holding it up on his own. Well, yesterday he for sure refused the sippy, and wasn't too interested in the milk. We had to default back to formula. This morning I had the idea of warming the milk up and he liked it much better, but it was in a bottle-DOH! This sippy cup and milk thing is going to be a struggle.
He hasn't been eating much for the past few days either. He seems to spit anything out that is lumpy, which is strange because he loved that stuff about a week ago. I think he may be teething or coming down with something. These symptoms do fall under teething.
Anyway, I just wanted to update about Austin since I haven't posted in a while. His 1st Birthday is a week from today!! I know every mom thinks this, but I can't believe a year has gone by already! I am taking off work on his Birthday and we are going to decorate the house with birthday stuff. We are having his Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese the following day, so we won't be able to decorate there. We are making up for it at the house. We will do some other fun stuff on his Birthday, I just don't know what yet.
Here is a fun pic from Grandma De. He sure likes the toybox!
