Much Needed Vacation - Day 1

Well a super mini vacation anyway. We decided to make the most of this Texas situation and check out some of the state. There will probably be several mini trips to follow. For this one we decided to head down to Houston and Galveston. Another reason we headed out for a road trip is out new mini van. We love it! It wasn't a far drive, about 4 hours. Here we are early this morning getting ready to head out.

We made a stop into the Nasa Space Center in Houston. It was interesting, very overpriced for what they had. It was nice to get the kids out of the car though. I can't believe how hot it was outside. It was sticky hot and yuck! Austin has a blast as usual. He loves Space ships. When we were done we had to get him a space ship of his own. He is in love with it.

This was so cute. Austin saw this huge rocket ship and ran over to it, then gave it a huge hug. I thought it was just adorable!

After that we arrived in Galveston. What a beautiful place. We decided to go to the aquarium and check things out there. It was nice and Austin was in love with the penguins...and his space ship toy :)

Then it was a little driving the coast to explore. We were exhausted and cut that short to head to the room. We snuggled in, ate dinner and watched the Wings game. Bummer they lost by the way!
Couldn't leave this one out of Austin and his space ship!

Ok, I have to get to sleep. Another big day tomorrow! Night!!

( Austin just told me he loved me for the first time! )

Little Photographer

Give a two year old a camera and this is what you get! (He just got done eating oreos )

Kisses

Austin and Kayla love to play together lately. Whenever we ask him to give her kisses he usually will. Sometimes he will only blow her kisses like in the video. I think he was a little camera shy. They are getting along great now and I love to watch them together. Austin will always run to her when she is crying and say "sissy sad." I am very happy they have each other.

Nummies

Well, Kayla is 4 months now. She is going through a ton of changes right now. I am watching her right now laugh at her brother and play. I can't remember when she started doing this and when it became "normal." She went to the Doc a couple of days ago for her well visit and shots. It went very well. She is in the 50 - 75% for weight - 14 and a half pounds. She does have some skin issues, possible allergies, but we are working on that when some lotion and medication. It doesn't seem to bother her one bit. She got shots and did very well. Later that evening she decided to projectile vomit, but right after she did it she was laughing and that was it.

Kayla has been waking up a lot lately to eat in the middle of the night so I decided to go ahead and start rice cereal. She loves it, can't give it to her fast enough. She gets it everywhere and still is learning how to swallow it. It makes me smile when she eats it. The Doc said to go ahead and start some veggies and fruits in the next few weeks.

Here is a cute video of her eating her nummies

We Love this Place

We love going to the Tyler zoo. It's just the right size and Austin has a blast. He loves to watch the birds, elephants, giraffes and penguins. It is very close by. Figured we would get in another visit before it gets way too hot to be outside for that long. Of course Kayla slept most of the time. We used the wagon for the first time and it was a big hit.

Go Wings!
