On the Phone with NaNa

Yesterday when I got home from work, we called Nana as we usually do. Austin misses her and she is having withdrawals from not seeing him for 2 weeks! We try for once a week, but sometimes busy schudles don't allow for it.

Nana loves to talk to Austin on the phone and usually it is on speaker and Austin smiles while playing. Well, I lost my phone and Nana was going crazy not being able to talk to him so I just put the phone up to his ear. Usually he tries to eat it or pushes it away and gets mad at me. Last night was different, he let me put it up to his ear and he listened to Nana talking to him. Then he started to talk back to her. He looked so serious. It was baby babble, but it was so darn cute! He did this for a few mintues. It made Nana's Day! We are going to visit her tomorrow morning, yay!! Austin LOVES going to visit her, and loves to play at her house.

Ten on Tuesday

1.) I have been working out a whole bunch lately. Austin loves to climb on my stomach when I am doing sit-ups. Maybe he is trying to help me cause that works my tummy out a lot more lol.

2.) Austin's 2nd tooth popped through on Saturday, YAY!!

3.)I want to plan a weekend getaway so bad. I am trying to talk Jason into it. We will see!

4.) My Mother-in-Law and I finally getting along and I think we can be friends. It took a long time, but things happen. It will be nice to have a relationship with her again. She left some nice flowers in my office (we work together) and a single white rose by Autumn's picture. She also left that courage stone. It was nice! Looking forward to the future, letting the past go.

5.) I decided to add music to my blog. These are inspiring songs to me. If my life could have a soundtrack, this would be it. Some have to do with Autumn, some Austin while others just some trials and tribulations, and happy times. This music helps me reflect and I realize how I came to be the person I am today. I like me :)

6.)The Vegas trip is getting closer. BOO!

7.)I enrolled Austin in a class for Thursday. I am very excited to go with him. It's through Gymboree Play and Music. First class is free, so we will see if the cost is worth going back every week.

8.)We got Austin's bloodwork done last week and he was a tough cookie. I made Jason sit with him and hold him down as I paced the room and hallway peeking to see if he was ok. He did great and only cried for a few seconds. Afterward we went to the store and got one of those cool carts that looks like a car with cartoons playing inside. He was so excited to be in it that he was giggling and screaming playing inside of it while we shopped.

9.)I can't get Austin to take a sippy cup and he is almost 1! I can't force him, but I will work with him everyday. When he is ready he will take it.

10.)Grandma De did a "practice day" and gave Austin a cupcake and let him go crazy with it. Here is a pic from it, too cute!

March for Babies

The March of Dimes, March for Babies has kicked off for 2008. They changed the name form Walk America to March for Babies, and I think that is just perfect.

Jason and I along with Family and Friends have done this every year since Autumn passed away in 2003. I did miss last year due to just giving birth to Austin. This year we are taking Austin with us, and are very excited to participate. We walk for our Daughter, Autumn.

The March of Dimes is just amazing. They stay in contact with me all year long and I have met some very wonderful people. They have some great events that we try to go to that benefit preterm babies. When Jason and I were ready to get pregnant again, I contacted them and we set up a meeting at Hutzel Hospital. They wanted to take us on a tour of the Hospital because they have found it is the absolute best place around for High Risk Pregnancies and Premature Babies. Once we met, we had a full tour of the Maternity Ward and the NICU. After the tour we talked for a while and they helped me choose a High-Risk Doctor. The rest they say, "is history."

"Many people today are unaware of how many premature babys are born. We just want to share our story and do what we can to help give premature babies a better future. Today in the U.S., 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.

The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality."

Happy Birthday Blog!

Wow! Hard to believe I have been blogging for 1 year on the Rockett Blog.

It started out as the Pregnancy / bedrest blog. I wanted a place to post all of my news and accomplishments for the high-Risk Pregnancy. That and I had nothing but time on my hands, had to fill my days with something other than TV and thinking. Little did I know this would become a major hobby and fun part of life for me.

Now the blog is more about my Family and mostly little Austin, who is going to be 1 very soon!! Woo Hoo!!

I have met so many wonderful friends on here and they are amazing!! I have laughed with all of you and cried with you, we have helped guide one another and you all inspire me!!

So, to all of my friends, family, and fellow blogging buddies, thank you for checking in. Soon to follow, good times, bad times, funny times and hopefully another pregnancy and baby or babies.

Where it all started, my very first post

Ten on Tuesday

A lot of my blogging friends started to do "Ten on Tuesday" so I am joining the bandwagon. That and I run out of things to post. This way it isn't all about Austin, you get some of me too.

1.) Last year we had about 2-3 computers crash!! You would think we would learn to back up everything, but I was just too preoccupied with the pregnancy. We lost all of our pictures of Austin's first 2 months and Autumn's pictures. I have been so upset with that. I was devistated. Good thing Jason recovered most of the pictures last night!!! YAY!!!! I was so happy yesterday when I came home to see Autumn's pictures. They are hard to look back on, lots of memories, emotions and feelings came rushing back. I am so blessed to have these pictures of her. Jason just has to fix the laptop and we are all set. I will be backing everything up ASAP!!

2.) When I looked through Austin's newborn pics last night I couldn't believe how much he has changed. It was an emotional moment for me. This is why I LOVE photography, you can save a beautiful moment forever. Autumn lives on in her pictures. When I see them I go back to the second the picture was taken. Every picture tells a story. I hold these so close to me heart. Photography is my Passion.

3.) I am doing very well on getting ready for the Photography Business. I am learning some new tricks everyday. I can't wait until I am all ready. For those friends and family with kids, watch out!!

4.)Austin's 1st Birthday is booked and we are ready! It is so strange that he will be one. It feels like yesterday I was wobbling around with a huge belly. The pregnancy was one of the most challenging things I have been through, but I do miss it. I am so excited to have another baby. I so want to have another girl, I have names picked out and I think of it often. We have to wait a bit longer though... I think.

5.) Austin will be off formula in less than a month, YEAH!! That will save us a while lot of money!!

6.) I am losing weight, and almost down one pants size. It seems I lose about 8 then gain it back then it's gone again, lol. I must be doing something right, and something wrong at the same time. I have to really buckle down if I want to do this. It is really important to me to be healthy and lose a lot of weight.

7.) Austin stood by himself over the weekend. When he did it before, I helped, but he did it all by himself on Sunday for a while. So proud of him :)

8.) Jason's 26th Birthday is coming up on March 2nd. I want to do something really special for him this year. He has been so great and has helped me through so much. He really deserves something nice.

9.) I am ready for warm weather. It's getting really annoying trying to take Austin out in this cold weather. It's really difficult to put him in the carseat with all the layers he has on too.

10.) Sunday we got together at my Dad's house for my Nephew, Jerry's 9th Birthday. It was a special day. His actual Birthday is on Friday. We are going out to Port Huron to see him again this Sunday. It's always nice to see them, and I wish we could get togehter more often!!

That's all for today. Hopefully I can come up with 10 things every Tuesday, lol.

Happy Valentines Day!!

A old pic from when Austin was 5 months old.

Today was a good day. I picked up Austin and was home about 5pm. we went and played in the snow for a minute, and Austin hated it!
Ok, we didn't really play. I plopped him down so I could snap about 10 pics, lol. I still like crying pics, they are cute!!

After that we went inside and I gave him a banana and he was all smiles.

Austin got a sweet card from GG and GP (Great Grandma and Grandpa Rockett.) They always send the cutest cards. We hope to see them soon, they are in florida enjoying the warm weather.

Austin's 1st Valentines Day was a good one

11 Months

Today, Valentines Day, Austin is 11 months old. He has changed a lot in this month. He is always learning something new. I took him to the Doctor 2 days ago and he was 22 lbs. I thought he would be bigger, but he is still on track and average, maybe a little above average. He sure is heavy to lug around, lol.

He is doing lots of fun stuff, like playing catch with Daddy. Jason rolls a ball to him and Austin throws it back! Daddy coouldn't be happier with that. They also play with the mini Hockey stick a lot. It's too cute. He really loves to play peek a boo too. He started to clap too!!

Austin loves to Dance with his toys that play music. He adores to look out the window and watch people. We live by a train, and when he hears it he goes to the window and just stares at it and giggles.

Austin is very interested in food. We are giving him a lot of what we eat now and still introducing a lot to him. He seems to love it all. We don't want a picky eater!!

He isn't walking yet, but sometimes I catch him standing by himself for a few seconds. When he realizes it, he falls on his bum. He doesn't seem to interested in walking yet, but we are tying to show him how to do it. I guess he will do it when he is ready. I can't seem to get him to use a sippy cup either. I wish he would go off the bottles, but we are working on that. I don't want him on a bottle at 1 year old, so we are working hard this month.

In the morning, he loves to watch cartoons. His fav with us is Mickey's Playhouse. As soon as Mickey comes on the screen he laughs really hard. I can't wait to take him to Disney World next year!!!

For Valentines Day we are not doing much. I am going to try and bundle him up and take some pics of him outside today. I have an awesome SLR camera, but the lighting inside isn't too good until I get some more flash equipment and lights. That's all for now. We are looking forward to his 1st Birthday. It will be so special to us, just as any parent celebrates their childs first birthday.

We had a not so fun photoshoot in the snow today. It lasted about 1 minute, and it wasn't too cold out. He was ok for a minute in the snow. He didn't like it so much though, and he wouldn't wear gloves.

What is my Mommy doing to me?!?!?!

"Catching Up"

I decided to take two days off work and spend some time with Austin. He has been doing this weird twitching/shuddering thing lately and he had me really freaked out. I decided after much worrying to just take him to the Doc to check it out. I was so tired of worrying about it. We went yesterday and he is OK! the Doc was happy we came in and he really calmed me down, he was wonderful. He didn't think I was crazy for taking him in either. I am so glad we switched Doctors! He said this type of thing is normal, and we can all do this sometimes. He said pay attention to it and if he keeps it up we will do an EEG. I don't think we will have to, I haven't noticed it much since we went to get it checked out, go figure!

Today Jason, Austin and I had a Awesome day together. We had a chance to spend the day togehter and really "catch up." Jason had the day off too! We started out by going to The Henry Ford Museum. I haven't been there since I was a kid on a field trip. I was so excited to go! Austin had fun and didn't act up at all. We walked around with him on our shoulders for a bit and he really loved that!

The Museum is such a cool place. I can't wait to take Austin there when he can learn about everything. He fell asleep after his bottle in his stroller. He was such a cutie, as always.

The fun doesn't stop there! We decided to go to Chuck E Cheese and see if this would be a good place for Austin's 1st Birthday next Month. It was great and I know it will be a perferct place for Austin. He loved it so much. He really enjoyed the band, and wasn't scared of them at all like I was when I was young. They look like the exact same characters up there too. Anyway, here is Austin watching the band and having some snacks.

Next he went to play on some of the rides. I was so excited they had some toddler rides for him. At first he was kind of bored with them.

Once we got him into the cars, he was very happy. He loved to play with the steering wheel. He also liked when they moved. Dad and I played a couple games too :)

We went to the toddler area and Austin loved to climb and play. He was the happiest here. We let him climb while each of us were on one side. He was having a blast!

We worked really hard and got some tickets. Daddy rocked the Basketball and Mommy rocked the Skee-Ball. We got him this ball and he loves it...can you tell?

We really needed this, and I will be a much happier person because of these 2 days I got to spend with the Family! I can't wait to do it again soon!!

He is Fast!

We were trying to take some pics of him tonight on the bed and he wouldn't stay still! I love him, and he is a busy bee!!
