Bridget's Baptism

Yesterday Bridget was Baptized. Jason and I were and are honored to be her Godparents. It was at a Beautiful Church, and it was a Beautiful Baptism. Bridget did very well, didn't fuss.
My mom went to help out with Austin during the Baptism, and she really wanted to meet Bridget. Austin was quiet though the service, but hw was a handful for Nana. He was chewing on our camera strap most of the time to keep occupied :)
Afterward we went back to Grandma De's for a Celebration. I got to feed Bridget and see her with her eyes open and she was awake for a tiny bit :) She is so beautiful. Austin was very good, having fun in the jumper and crawling around visiting everyone.
Above are some pics from that day. I finally got a pic of Austin and Grandma De. It was a Beautiful Day!

Eating Shoes

I haven't put shoes on Austin much because the weather hasn't been too cold. I put them on him yesterday and all he wants to do is chew on them and play with them. It is so funny. He is so much fun!

Visit with Great Grandma

Austin's Great Grandma stopped by last week to visit Austin. She is heading back to Florida for the Winter. Austin enjoyed her, and was trying to chew on her shoes!! We are looking forward to seeing her for Christmas!

Standing

I put Austin in his pack-n-play and all he does is stand. He pulls himself up on everything and walks along. He is on the move!!

Biter Biscuit

Austin enjoyed his first Biter Biscuit, and it was a mess. He enjoyed it until the dog found it, then off to a nice bath. He really loves them !!

Bad Weekend, 3rd Doctor Visit and Frustration!

Austin has been sick for over 2 weeks now. He started to get better, then he got really sick. Friday he was very congested and coughing a lot more. I was worried, but trying to think positive. That night was miserable. Austin's temp spiked up to 101.6 and he was screaming and very congested. He couldn't sleep well because he was so congested. It was a bad night. I almost rushed him to the ER at 4am, but Jason and my mom talked me out of it. We used Tylenol and gave him a cool bath to break the fever. It worked for a little while, then we had to do it again. He was just miserable and I was too. Finally he went to sleep. When he woke up he was the same, but we decided to page his Doctor before we rush to the expensive ER. She said she was concerned because he has been sick for over 2 weeks. She decided to switch him to a more aggressive med and for us to watch him on that. He was doing ok on it, and I think he is getting better, but I just don't know. Last night I thought he was better, but he was coughing so hard he spit up some flem and it made him gag, so he projectile vomited all over me! I feel so bad for him and just want him to get better.

We had to miss Gavin's 4th Birthday Party because Austin was so sick. We really wanted to go :(

With all of this madness I decided to call the Doctors Office on Monday Morning to see if he would need to be seen. The nurse told me it was a good idea to get him in to see the Doc to make sure there is no more ear infection. I ended up taking him in that afternoon. I was annoyed because the Nurse told me he didn't look sick and seemed to be fine. She is the one who said to bring him in! Then she looked at his head and asked if he bumped it. Come on lady! You see him all the time and you should know it's his Cavernous Hemangioma. She realized when I just looked at her and she corrected herself. Anyway, he was weighed and gained a lot. He is up to 18 pounds now. I wish I could tell you the exact weight, but I was so frustrated I just don't remember. His temp was normal, and we were very happy about that. He seems to spike more at night anyway. So, I waited for a while then finally the doc came in. This is the Doctor I don't care for. The one I like only works 2 days a week. She came in and just looked frustrated. She asked what Austin was in for and I explained. She was rushing and writing like crazy. She checked his lungs, and they were good. She laid him on the table and checked ears and the infection is no longer there. I was very happy about that. She said he was good and there was nothing more they can do for him. I was fine with that, I don't like to pump my son full of unnecessary meds.

This is the part of the visit I hate. She says he is fine, then turns to the door. I have to ask her to come back so I can ask her the questions I have. She looks very annoyed when I do that, but come on! If I don't know I am going to ask! She gets paid to do this. I asked her if he needs a flu shot and she said yes. Then walked out the door. Come on! I still needed to know the risks/benefits and just about the shot in general. She was gone and I was just out of luck. I got Austin dressed and had to leave. I realized I forgot to ask about the meds he is on now. He is a bad side affect and I had to catch a Nurse and talk to her about it. I think I will have to find a new doctor or figure something out here. This just does not work.

I was in a very bad mood walking out of the Doctor Office. I was walking to the car, and this old man looked at me in a weird way. I just ignored it and kept walking. He then said, " You sure are bouncing that poor little baby's head all over the place." I just looked at him and said, "Thanks! He is fine!!" Not to mention he got a very dirty look! If you know me, I don't act like this to anyone. I'm sorry, but Austin is very heavy, and he is just more heavy in the carrier. I am his mother, I will not hurt him!

So anyway, I am just frustrated and hope that Austin feels better soon. He seems to be doing better today. I am just trying to focus on VACATION! In case you didn't notice from this post, I think I need it!

Will He EVER Get Better?

Ausitn started showing the symptoms of his cold again last night. I figured it would take him a while to get over it because we can't treat it, but Geez! His nose is really plugged up and he has the cough still. He isn't in the same nasty mood he was in last week though. He is refusing a bottle a lot, and that is just frustrating. I want to make sure he gets enough to eat, so I just force it on him and he finally gives in and eats. I know you are thinking I am over-feeding him and he just doens't want it, but I sware I'm not! We tried teh Sippy cup, but he doesn't get teh hang of it yet. He just plays with it and bites it. I guess I wasn't really expecting him to just pick it up and use it right away though. He will get the hang of it in time i'm sure, but in the meantime, he has to eat his bubba! We upgraded to level 2 of the solid foods. He had Mango's for the 1st time and ate it all up. I think he liked it!

Another bad thing about him being sick, he wont sleep through the night. He gets up 1-2 times a night really ticked off. I give him his bottle, change his diaper. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't and I have to stay up with him for a while. It's tough when I have to get up for work really early. On a good note - I am fine with him sleeping in his crib now and he likes it too. We just really have to get him to sleep through the night again!

Jason has this weekend off, so it should be really nice to all spend time together. Looking forward to it!

Until Next Time...

Fun at Grandma De's

Austin loves to go to Grandma De's. She watches him a few days a week while we are at work. She has lots of fun things to play with and fun animals that adore Austin. She e-mailed me these pics a couple days ago while I was at work. It made my day!

7 Months

Yesterday Austin turned 7 months old. He is doing really well, other than the fact he has been sick for a while. Poor little man just can't get it to go away and there isn't much you can do for a little one with a cold. I didn't know that! He still has the ear ache, but he is on meds for that. He gets very fussy and pulls at his ear when they are bothering him.

Anyway, he is still eating good and growing well. He loves to play with his toys and scoot around on the floor. We started to put him into his pack-n-play because sometimes he is just too curious and gets into everything! He still has not started to crawl, but I think he will any day now. He still gets up on all 4's and rocks back and forth. He is learning how to pull himself up and loves to climb all over Daddy and I. He started to sit up with no support at all and he does so well. He sometimes tips over, but he is starting to catch himself more and more. He was doing so well, I decided to give him a big boy bath and he loved it! He splashes a lot and really loves the water. He gets me soaked, but thats ok. He has a lot of fun. He is really zipping around in his walker. Poor Dante (our husky) gets chased all over the kitchen.

He is really starting to babble more now. I can't wait until he speaks his first word. It will probably be Dada, because he seems to be so amazed with his Daddy. Yesterday for the first time Austin didn't want Daddy to leave for work. Jason was trying to walk out the door and Austin was scooting toward him and reaching for him with a big smile on his face. It was too cute. Anytime Daddy is around, Austin's face just lights up. They already have that father-son bond going.

Austin's hair is getting long and turning blonde. I figured it would because both Jason and I were blonde when we were young. His eyes are such a nice shade of blue. They are a very deep blue. He is so handsome! We will see if that color stays. I think he is too young to tell, but I love the shade they are now.

Austin is doing ok, just have to get him feeling better. He goes back to the Doctor in 2 weeks to make sure he is gaining weight and feeling better. Now we are just trying to feel better and looking forward to VACATION!! We are going to Tennesse in less than 3 weeks!

Another Trip to the Doctor

Poor Austin was getting better, then bam he got really sick. Not just sick, but very fussy and miserable. There was almost nothing I could do to help him feel better. I didn't take him today, Jason did.

The doctor said he said a bad ear infection. She said it is for sure a cold and it hasn't hit his lungs yet, and hopefully it doesnt. We just have to do the saline spray and suck out his nose. He hates that very much!! I feel better that he went back in and now I can have a comfortable weekend without worry about him like crazy.

I am glad Austin went back, because he saw the other Doctor and she did explain things very well and took her time. She was much more friendly and she also has 2 young kids herself so she understands what we are going through. I think we will have to make the switch to her.

Trip to the Doctor

Austin was sick for the very first time. I handled it a lot better than I thought I would. On Friday I noticed a cough and runny nose. It was even worse on Saturday, he had a low grade fever and his cough was very deep and sounded like it hurt. On Monday morning I called the Doctor and she wanted to see him. I took him in later in the day and the visit wasn't too bad. He checked out good and she said he did not have to be treated at this point. He didn't have an ear infection, that is what I was worried about because he was pulling at his ears. The Doctor thinks he is having the cough and symptoms because of teething and a tiny cold. We don't see any teeth yet, but we are thinking any time.

Austin has gained 12oz in 2 1/2 weeks! That is so cool! He is now at 17lb 12oz.

I am thinking Austin is going to be crawling at any time now. He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. He seems very determined to move around by crawling instead of that army crawl. He is doing good other than this weekend with the cold. He has been a bit fussy, but I am too when I don't feel good.

Austin and His Nana

Last night Nana came to visit Austin and watched him while we went out to some Haunted Houses. It was so nice and they had a great night together. She told me she put the walker in the living room and he went over to it and pulled himself up and was standing!! He is really getting big!! Austin loves his Nana very much!!

Trent's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday we went to Port Huron for Trent's 1st Birthday. I think Trent had a really fun time. He didn't want to dig into his cake, so Aunt Allison had to help him out a little. It was so sweet. Aunt Jennifer put on a Great Party for Trent and it was nice to go out there. Trent had a lot of fun opening presents and seeing everyone.
Austin was a little fussy, but he cheered up when we put him in Trent's exersaucer. Austin is starting to get a little sick with a cough and the sniffles. We had to cut the visit a little short so we could get him home to rest. We are going back in a couple weeks for Gavin's 4th Birthday!

When Austin Met Bridget

We took Austin over to meet Bridget a few days ago. She is still so tiny and new so she slept most of the time. Austin was a little fussy, but he was sleepy. It was a nice visit and attached are a few pics from that day. I can't believe how big Austin is getting. He was actually holding his own bottle... for a second anyway.
It was so nice to see Jason and Chad with both the kids. They grew up together, not our kids can too! Love the pic of all 4 of them together.
Bridget is so tiny and beautiful. She is perfect. I really can't beieve only 6 months ago Austin was that size!!
